A Conversation With Bloom Remedies

Tell us about the origin of Bloom Remedies.

I trained as an aromatherapist with Neal’s Yard Remedies many years ago, and used to run a private practice, blending bespoke products for clients. The idea for Bloom was born shortly after this, and what started as a small operation with products made and sold from my home, has now over a decade later expanded into a business that is run by myself and a team of people.

How would you describe the Bloom Remedies ethos?

We always like to have the bigger picture in mind, beyond profits and sales. Our ingredients and processing/packaging methods are of a high quality that don’t compromise the planet or our customers’ skin, with wellbeing at the top of the list.

What ingredients do you use and can any be found in Cornwall?

We use SO many ingredients from Cornwall and the UK. From base oils like antioxidant meadowfoam and nourishing wheatgerm, to herbal extracts like sea buckthorn. From over 30 essential oils including well known names like lavender and geranium, to some less well known like benzoin and helichrysum! Sea buckthorn and lavender in particular are native ingredients sourced from Cornwall. The bulk of the rest of our ingredients come either from the UK, France or Italy.

How do you think West Cornwall as a place inspired the creation of Bloom Remedies’ products?

West Cornwall is a huge inspiration for me personally and definitely played a role in the creation of our two core ranges, Serenity and Radiance. The packaging was directly inspired by the sea, the rock formations and the sunrises and sunsets. Being close to nature ensures that we remain passionate about using natural and pure ingredients. Feeling ‘nature inspired’ all the time.

Tell us a little bit about the products that guests can expect to find in our spa?

We are delighted to be a part of The Falmouth’s spa offering, and with the ocean and beach on the doorstep we couldn’t think of a better location for Bloom products to flourish in the hands of The Falmouth’s experienced spa therapist team. We have replenishing oils for all skins types which feel wonderful when massaged into the skin, and oil cleansers for those looking for that awake and refreshed feeling. Exfoliating balms and cleansing balms are also part of the process, each to be gently massaged and removed with a hot cloth for the most luxurious feeling, along with nourishing masks for a deep cleanse.

Take us through some of your latest launches.

As part of our Timeless Repair intense botanical range, the Timeless Repair Serum Gel is perfect for daily use in place of a moisturiser and contains active and potent botanicals that encourage collagen production and skin cell renewal with natural vitamin content to encourage healthy skin repair. The Timeless Repair Eye Renewal Serum contains carrot root extract and lemon seed oil to help smooth fine lines and brighten dark shadows.

Also new to our face care range and being used at the spa is our Superfood Nourishing Mask which is packed full of active ingredients to feed and nourish the skin including pumpkin seed oil, avocado oil, lemon seed oil, spirulina, dandelion extract, seaweed extract, French green clay and sweet basil.

Is there anything else our guests can expect to experience from Bloom Remedies while at The Falmouth?

We’ll also be providing some beautiful body care products for the spa including our Serenity Body Oil which ties in with the Serenity range used in the guest bedrooms. This beautiful blend is infused with essential oils for relaxation and calm. Our Radiance Body Oil will also be available for treatments and offers guests a chance for energising renewal with a blend of essential oils that lift the spirits and offer an energetic boost to the day.

Anyone and everyone can use Bloom Remedies’ products. They can be used by men as well as women, and by any age group.
