Meet Our Head Spa Therapist, Alice

April 2, 2025 | News

Standing at the helm of our freshly re-opened spa facilities, Head Spa Therapist Alice Parker is a practised hand when it comes to relaxation, replenishment, and rejuvenation.

Tell me a little bit about you

I’m originally from Derbyshire, where I completed my level two and three Beauty Therapy qualification. I’ve been in the beauty industry for around ten years. I moved down to Cornwall four years ago to continue my career as Spa Therapist in a beautiful location that is close to my heart.

How did you come to work at The Falmouth?

I took an interest in working at The Falmouth when I discovered that the hotel was undergoing a huge transition. They were in need of a new spa team. I took this as an opportunity to progress in my career. My years of knowledge from working in various spa environments was put to good use.

Talk me through your role, and what your job involves day to day.

My role involves overseeing the day to day running of the spa. I’m always thinking about how we can improve our guest experience. I, alongside the spa team, carry out a wide range of treatments to the highest standard to suit each guest. My top priority is ensuring all guests are well looked after and leave the spa feeling relaxed and pampered.

What would you say is your favourite part of working at The Falmouth?

Our lovely guests. There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing our guests leaving the spa with a smile on their face, feeling like they could float away on a cloud. We also have an incredible new spa team who are a dream to work with and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic in their profession.

How would you describe a spa experience at The Falmouth for anyone who has not been before?

I would describe a spa treatment experience at The Falmouth as an indulgent pamper. There’s a sense of tranquillity that is always good for the wellbeing and self care.

Talk me through some of your favourite treatments – what would you recommend and why?

I couldn’t pick a favourite treatment, I enjoy doing them all. However, we carry out our treatments with well named luxury products. Mii Nail Cosmetics is one, and Bloom Remedies (a local Cornish brand) another that I have come to enjoy working with very much.

What do you think sets the spa at The Falmouth apart from others?

There are many reasons, we are situated in such a beautiful location, right next to the sea, which is always such a privilege. As we are a brand new spa team who have collectively relaunched the spa back in February, I find a sense of pride in being able to follow along in The Hotels journey of improvement and success. We are all in this from the beginning, staff and guests alike.

Where is your favourite place in Cornwall and why?

There are many places in Cornwall that I love, however, my favourite must be Port Issac. I have many fond holiday memories growing up here which I will always cherish, and I am now honoured to call Cornwall my home.

If you could sum up Cornwall in three words, what words would you choose?

Peaceful, breath-taking, nostalgic.
